The Orchestra

The Waveney Sinfonia Musical Society was formed in 1978 and was the brainchild of Richard Featherstone. The aim was to give Waveney (a district in Suffolk, UK) an orchestra and to provide an opportunity for local young people to play with more mature musicians in an orchestra under a professional baton. The orchestra is based in Lowestoft and performs three times yearly (October, January and May). Rehearsals take place during the weekend before each concert at Sir John Leman High School, Beccles and on Concert Day at the Performance Venue.
