What do I need to do if I want to join Waveney Sinfonia as a player?

Contact us via email and one of the committee or a fixer will get back to you as soon as possible.

What do I need to do in advance of the rehearsal weekend?

  • Collect your music from your fixer

  • Practice your part

  • Listen to the works

  • Remember to bring your music to the rehearsals and concert

  • Pack a soft pencil for rehearsals, so relevant markings can be made

  • Pack a music stand to be used at rehearsals and concert

What should I wear?

  • Rehearsals – casual, comfortable and appropriate for the season

  • Concert – all black with a ‘splash of red’ (handkerchief/headband/scarf/ tie/jewellery/socks/shoes etc)

How can I get tickets for family/friends?

They can be obtained on the door, or reserved via a request on the website.

Are recordings made or photographs taken?

Recordings may be made by the Society for our own use. Photos may be taken of the orchestra/soloist/conductor during applause breaks. Please be aware that these may be shared on social media, but names will not be shown.

Is there a fee or subscription to be paid?

No, but we do encourage players to give a meaningful contribution to reflect and support the significant costs involved to putting on such a musical offer. This can be done via our ‘pink piggy bank’ or a donation to the Treasurer and facilitate Gift Aid

Food and drink

You will need to bring your own food for both the rehearsal and concert weekends. Tea and coffee are provided during rehearsal breaks; we ask you to bring your own cup and for donations to support the costs of these refreshments.

Smoking & vaping:

The use of all smoking materials (including vapes and e-cigarettes) are not permitted in any indoor areas of our concert venues.
